What does your plan cover with
COVID-19?
In these trying times, it’s good to have some peace of mind and know what the steps are regarding your health insurance.
With all the concerns surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19) we wanted to make sure that you are aware of what your plan covers when it comes to COVID-19.
The Department of Health and Human Services declared COVID-19 testing as an essential health benefit. This includes diagnosis and treatment including medically necessary hospitalization.
Many companies, are in fact, providing these services at no charge when the services are ordered and/or referred by a licensed health care provider. For more details about how much the co-pays, if any, for these services would be or any additional questions, please contact your insurance company. Their phone number for customer service is found behind your id card.
Most of the insurance companies provide telehealth as well as 24/7 nurse lines. Telehealth is to speak with a medical professional virtually through video chat. The nurse line is to call over the phone and speak with a nurse about your symptoms. These are great ways to practice social distancing and stay safe.
Again, for more details regarding telehealth and nurse lines please contact customer service for your insurance company, the phone number is located in the back of your id card.
For those of you that might have friends and family that have been laid-off and also lost their health insurance, please provide them with our phone number or vice versa, so we can speak with them about their options.
At MALM Life and Health Insurance Agency, we hope that you are staying safe and enjoying some family time. We will get through this together.
Sincerely,
Merlin Ana Lepigaasdato, Lorena and Leslie Tomasini
